Story Box Library
Story Box Library is a subscription based website and online 'reading room' which aims to engage and inspire children through storytelling.
The authors and illustrators, numbering more than two hundred, will be familiar to many of you, especially those who have seen our guest speakers at the CKT festivals!
As well as a great mix of authors and illustrators, Story Box hosts a diverse range of storytellers. Predominantly from Australia and New Zealand, the storytellers, comprising grandparents, teenagers, sportspeople, comedians, musicians and actors, support the improvement of language and literacy skills, and showcase a variety of accents and cultures.
Story Box Library provides their service as a visual and complementary practice to being read aloud to. Over 200 titles of past and present books are shared and can be used in the classroom with tailored Classroom Notes, or at home with the At Home Activities information. These are specifically created for the Australian curriculum, further connecting children to the themes of each story.
Story Box Library continues to add forty to sixty titles each year, with option of closed captions. Access is free for families and students to access at home via participating public libraries and schools.
