Beverley’s background is in law and accountancy, but after emigrating to Australia with four children she ditched the rat race (and the money) to follow her dream of becoming a writer. Beverley loves to write across all children’s genres but has a passion for non-fiction.
Beverley’s debut picture book Born to Fly was published by MidnightSun in 2019 and was a CBCA notable book (Eve Pownall Award for children’s non-fiction). Beverley’s middle-grade manuscript The Reindeer and the Submarine won the Scribbles Creative Writing Award and is contracted for publication with Pantera Press in 2022. Beverley’s young adult manuscript Before I was me came second place in the CYA All Stars competition in July 2021.
Beverley’s writing has also been published online and in magazines, and she is a regular contributor to The School Magazine.
Beverley is the event coordinator and blogger for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI SA). She is also a member of the Australian Society of Authors.
Beverley lives by the beach in beautiful South Australia with her family and menagerie of pets (including a flock of adopted pigeons) who provide her with endless inspiration.
