I have been writing in one form or another most of my life. Starting as a journalist, I still write freelance articles, but my real joy is in writing stories for children. I always loved reading and still get great pleasure from curling up with a good book, whether it was written for adults or children. When I had my own child, and started reading to my baby, I realized that I wanted to write books that would take children into the glorious world of their own imagination and books that would help them to learn and grow.
My focus is writing books and stories about real life issues and, in particular, the two issues that have impacted my personal life the most, dementia and autism. I am currently working on middle grade chapter books with autistic characters, as well as a few picture books about those issues. I am proud to be a committee member of Creative Kids Tales and enjoy being an active member of the CKT Cocoon Club (writer’s critique group).
I have four short stories published:
The Midnight Pool and The Enchanted Bed – published in the Creative Kids Tales Story Collection 2 compiled by Georgie Donaghey. Published by Creative Kids Tales in 2019.
Rescuing the Refugees and The Most Amazing Place in the World – published in the Creative Kids Tales Story Collection compiled by Georgie Donaghey. Published by Creative Kids Tales in 2017.
