Marg has always been a storyteller.
As a photographer, she captures the stories of others.
As a writer, she creates children’s stories full of nonsense and fun.
Marg has taken part in KidLit Writers Competition’s, Bootcamps and Festivals; and this year has undertaken a mentorship with an editor to further refine her first love -writing. Recently, she was thrilled to place second in the aspiring picture book section of the 2021 CYA Writers’ Competitionand is keen to progress her writing into the reality of publication.
She is a member of SCBWI and received an Australia Day Award for her role in writing and editing a community publication for many years.
Her stories reflect the way she lives life; both have a strong sense of the ridiculous! (She once entered a pet parade in a gorilla costume as a dare… and won!). Marg’s passion for quirky humorous tales, is sparked by her zany family and country childhood. She lives in regional Queensland with her family and is well trained by her two rapscallion dogs.
Marg was selected as a finalist for the 2020 National Portrait Photographic Prize, for a story told through the lens, and hopes that one day soon she can share her written stories as well!
