Melissa lives on the Bellarine Peninsula with her husband and two children and enjoys walks along the beach. She has always loved reading and grew up near a library where she spent most of her time browsing and borrowing books. Melissa is passionate about education, in particular literacy, and believes the ability to read and write gives power to change.
Melissa’s recent YA novel, The Ruby Locket was released in 2020. It is her second book, with her debut novel Destiny Road released in 2012. Melissa was selected for The Maurice Saxby Writers Mentorship Program in 2015. Her work has won honourable mentions and she has featured in several anthologies. Melissa completed a Master of Education in 2017 with a thesis by research written on Picture Story Book use in the classroom.
Melissa enjoys writing fiction with snippets of fact blended within her work. Her style is constantly evolving and she is looking forward to sharing her stories and spending time creating new ones.
