Susan is a former language and science teacher who has developed a passion for writing stories from an animal’s point of view. She hopes not only to entertain her readers, but also to educate them about the Australian bush and wildlife through her stories. She has a special interest in endangered species, particularly the Bridled Nailtail wallaby which was previously believed to be extinct.
Many of her stories are based on her own personal experiences while observing animals in the bush. It is her hope that her readers will develop a love of Australian wildlife and will one day want to work towards the protection of our unique animals for future generations to enjoy.
Susan, who writes under the name of Rakali, also enjoys writing picture books just because it is fun to make her characters come alive.
