Jackie French is a writer and wombat tamer from the Araluen Valley.

Some of her books have sold millions of copies and others were eaten by the wombats. She has won over 60 awards, was Australian Literary Ambassador 2011, Australian Children’s’ laureate 2015-2015, Senior Australian of the Year 2015 and is patron of many organisations for children and literacy.
