About Mandy Foot
Mandy is an award winning, best-selling, children’s book Author and Illustrator with more than 300,000 books sold throughout Australia and New Zealand. She is an Ambassador for Raising Literacy Australia, Role Model for Books in Homes and the Illustrator Co-ordinator for the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators Society (SCBWI) South Australian branch. She is also a member of Ekidnas (South Australian Children’s Authors and Illustrators – published), Illustrators Australia, Adelaide Illustrators, Writers SA and the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA). She holds a Bachelor of Design (Illustration) from the University of South Australia (graduated 1992).
She also has a strong background in pre-press and printing following a decade as an Account Manager for high quality printing firms – van Gastel Printing and Finsbury Press. The role gave her extensive knowledge of artwork set up, pre press, and print which has become invaluable in her work today in understanding the production process for a children’s book.
